Funpic.org -- "no mode"

Ages ago I uploaded an oekaki board for a friend over at http://pikahideaway.pi.funpic.org/oekaki/ but now we seem to be suddenly getting "no mode" errors whilst editing the notice. Everything is CHMODed correctly, and I don't really see why notice.php should suddenly lock itself. I've recently upgraded it to the latest version.

I looked at some old posts and saw that this seems to be a problem with the server. Is there anyway that could allow editing of notice.php without the admins having to do it via FTP?

If not, I guess you could store all the data in notice.php in the mySQL db and edit it from the db rather than the php file?

Please help.

Pinkie.

Re: Funpic.org -- "no mode"

Most likely there's a word used in the notice that's causing the server to reject the edit.  If a particular word is used in a post, the server will just ignore the POST data altogether, and behave like nothing was received.  No error messages... no nothing.

FunPic hates words that have to do with spam, like "casino", "job", and even "work".  The server is now a real pain in the butt and I don't recommend anybody use it.

However, if the notice is updated via FTP, you can put anything in it (I believe).  Beware:  if FunPic updates their filters again, a site may just stop working altogether for no apparent reason.  I've seen that happen a few times, too.
