Mailing lists are easy to implement, but Wacintaki was specificly designed for personal web sites, rather than large communities. Personal web pages usually have strict policies about mass mailing, and trying to send even one batch of emails might result in an account deactivation.
A good idea, but spam hysteria makes it difficult.
