Nobody is safe, anymore! MUHAHAHAHA!!!

'Kay, this is just a picture I made for Kebukai Yajuu (now known as Russ Arulo) for no apparent reason, but it's special because it's my very first digital painting! Now that I have a wacom tablet (since, like, last year), I really should learn how to put it to good use.

If you think it's bad that I should cubbify someone I really like, you should see what I do to people that get on my nerves! HawHaw!!!

I really started getting into NASCAR in the 2001 season, probably because that was when NASCAR Racing 4 was released, which quickly became my favorite racing game. My dad and I took a trip to Talladega that year, which was my first live car race, too. Man, it was so freakin' loud!

The cars were noisy, too.

I've since lost interest in NASCAR in favor of rallying, but I'd be willing to attend a race at New Hampshire at some point in the future. The small tracks are much more interesting than the superspeedways.

Dodge Ram! Get it?! HAHAHAHA!!! ... Laugh, dammit.

OK, another parody I couldn't resist. I know this advertising campaign is fairly old, but I still think it's stupid enough to make fun of it.

I also made an alternate version (35.3 K).

Out of nowhere, M.T. Fox (aka Paul Prower), drew me two bits of fan art for my Backing Out comic strip. So I drew him this! Hope you like it, Paul. (One of his pics is on the BO guest art page, here's the other one). Too bad I'm too young to remember “The Raccoons”, an 80's TV show, but I still like the pic.

You will all hate me for this. :)

BTW, Fiona is a robot programmed by Dr. Robotnick to lure Tails into a trap, just in case you were wondering about the metalic eyes. She was featured in the Archie Sonic Comic book issue #28 as Tails' first love.

It's Delphis! Someone you wouldn't know! Actually, he's a very cool pen pal of mine, and for some weird (ahhhh...) reason, I like his art, too. It's also a bit of a landmark for me, since this is the first dolphin I've ever drawn. Yes, that IS a dolphin. Trust me! I still think he looks like a Gelbwurst.

Go visit his art page, and you too can be weird! Delphis' Cove. He also drew a strange pic of me in the shower! If only I was really that thin. I'd really like to know how he knows what color shampoo I use.

Man, did this take a long time to finish. Really. My computer decided to do a hard reset while in the middle of saving the original version, so the file got corrupted I had to do it over again from scratch. So much for saving every five minutes! Luckily, it came out better the second time around.

Here it is, the picture that defined my modern style. I sketched this out on paper, scanned it, traced it in Illustrator (making lots of fixes to the proportions of the head), then shaded it in Photoshop on a Mac at school. It took a long time to finish. But, it was worth it.

BTW, I really do have a collar and dog tag that says “Waccoon!” Now all I need is a purple checkerboard vest! Be afraid! MUHAHAHA!

Here's the original sketch. “One of these pics is not like the other...”

I prefer Manga Tails to “Archie Comics” Tails. In fact, I feel the only Mobian character who gets drawn more inconsistently than Tails is Antoine!

I bought “Sonic the Hedgehog: The Movie” on DVD. It was pretty disappointing overall, and absolutely nothing like the SATAM shows (Saturday AM cartoon series), and a lot like Sonic Adventure. As for Tails, his voice is nasal and dorky in the movie, but at least he has a much bigger role than in the SATAM series, and he's drawn correctly, too! If you love Tails, pick up the DVD for cheap.

A concept user-interface for Amiga Workbench 5.0. Not nearly as good as the GUI QNX made for Amiga (under the ownership of Gateway at the time). Of course, Gateway dumped QNX in favor of Linux before canning the OS altogether.

Isn't there anyone out there that knows what to do with the Amiga?

I drew this for Samual Lienhard's “FoxFire” Fanzine, a fanzine entirely dedicated to... what else?

This is one of the very few times I've drawn in a semi-realistic style. I still like it, if only I had done better work on the shadows and cloth.

This was made for a poster ad for my school newspaper, though the final poster was never printed.

And, yes, I know the tail lights are wrong. I drew this completely from memory.

Another pic for Sam Lienhard's “FoxFire” zine. The original was shaded entirely with Letratone, so it was very difficult to scan and the visual quality is below my usual standards. I can't believe I cut wasted all that plastic dotscreen adhesive.

I drew this for Zephery Hughes' “Evil Cat” portfolio.

I couldn't think of something really evil for her to do, so I figured this would work. I didn't include myself as a way of flaunting my ego — I just really, really suck at meeting deadlines. :)

Intuition GUI 144 Views - 0 Comments

No, I'm not overly pretentious — “Intuition” is the name of the Amiga's graphical interface library. This is a test GUI for an Amiga sound editor called Technos, which I never finished programming. Even today, I still haven't found a single sound editor that I really like using — not like there's many choices, either.

Blue buttons will pop up a window with more options. It takes some getting used to, but it works great.

A refined version of the Technos GUI, using a custom graphics set. NTSC version lacked the piano keys, because NTSC televisions have less resolution than their PAL cousins. In the Amiga world, this meant NTSC images were 640×400, and thus the bottom of a 640×512 PAL picture was chopped off.

A slight variation of Waccoon, except this guy is a fox.

Originally, Waccoon was just a character I played (breifly) on FurryMUCK, and was a real psycho. I was new to furry back then, but it didn't take me long to realize why a raccoon spazzing out on shiny rocks and pennies wasn't a good choice for a role-playing character.
