Wacintaki Poteto Patch
======================

[Overview] [Update] [Installation] [Troubleshooting] [Credits]

========
Overview
========

	This patch is designed to update Wacintaki Poteto 1.1.0 or newer. See the history.txt file for a complete list of changes.

	This patch will NOT update Wacintaki boards older than 1.1.0! Please download the full distribution to update, as too many files have changed.

	Wacintaki Poteto is a work in progress. Check for new versions, downloads, and patches here: https://www.NineChime.com/products/

======
Update
======

	Note: If updating from 1.5.5 or earlier and you have used international characters or symbols in your password, you will need to recover your password after the update. This is because the board's character set has been updated from ISO-8859-1 / Big5 to UTF-8.

	Copy all the files in the "overwrite" folder into your Wacintaki Poteto 1.1.x folder, overwriting any files already there. You will be informed to run the updater before you can use the BBS. Remember to read the updated documentation if you need to perform maintenance on your board.

	Do not copy the "install.php" file in the "installer" folder unless you need to delete the database or force a re-installation. If it is present, the board will detect it and ask you to remove it.

	The OekakiBBS applet may optionally be removed after an update to at least Wacintaki v1.2.5. To remove it, simply delete the "oekakibbs.jar" file.

	A new file, hacks.php, was introduced with Wacintaki v1.1.4. If you have utilized the cookie hack in functions.php, you will need to replace functions.php and edit hacks.php instead. You may ignore the hacks.php file or delete it if you don't need to change it.

	If you have created a custom PHP template for Wacintaki Poteto v1.1.0 or older, you will need to add three classes to your old template, "span.nolink", ".imgthumb", and ".imgthumb:hover". Use "default.css" as a reference to update your PHP template, and then delete the automatically generated CSS version.

Troubleshooting
===============

	If you are completely stumped or discover a bug, you may get help from the NineChime forum: https://www.NineChime.com/forum/

	Please do not ask questions about Wacintaki Poteto on other OekakiPoteto forums. Wacintaki functions very differently compared to OekakiPoteto and you may not be able to get any help. I can occasionally be found on the suteki.nu forum, however, which is the official forum of OekakiPoteto.
